Health and safety is central to everything we do at Grays. It is in the DNA of our culture and we aim to deliver all our client’s projects and workload with zero accidents and incidents.
We believe that Health and Safety is the overriding issue for all our Apprentices, Employees and Sub-Contractor partners. We invest in training and management to help deliver this objective.
We effectively manage health and safety we work in consultation with the independent Mentor Services, who provide us with assistance as and when our In House H&S Team require it. It provides dedicated health and safety advice and site inspections when required. An external health and safety consultancy service means that we can ensure that all necessary changes are implemented and we know that we are provided with an expert service which we can pass to our employees and sub-contractors allowing our MS&E personnel the chance to manage the day to day challenges that H&S brings. We are proud to say we are accredited with CHAS, ConstructionLine and have achieved Level 5 Compliance with Achilles (Building Confidence).
We continue to grow and develop our people with an extensive training programme where all personnel and sub-contractors will undertake relevant qualifications; whether that is SMSTS, SSSTS, Asbestos Awareness or PASMA to name just a few. Manual handling training and other necessary training will be undertaken according to the training matrix which has been compiled by us to ensure all training is up to date. CSCS Cards for all personnel and operatives are mandatory.
Comprehensive Health and Safety Files including site and task specific risk assessments and method statements are created for each new job which we undertake and copies of these are given to each of our clients before commencement of each job.
